Since October didn’t quite go as planned, and I need something to keep my brain busy, I am going to try and write again every day in December. I do have all kinds of things going on, but I need something that will keep me distracted, if that makes sense. It is a busy month and I don’t want to add pressure, but in an uncharacteristically (and largely) unnatural turn of events, I have writing prompts planned out ahead of time. For the whole month! I am surprised too.

My Mom loved to write. The last ten (maybe more, none of us can remember exactly) years of her career, she spent it teaching for Grand Prairie Regional College & NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). She taught a variety of courses, mostly revolving around English/Communication. She took courses herself in creative writing and we found a few binders of her own writing after a quick look around her office.

She always encouraged us (kids) to write. My brother and sister write, I write (not just here – I have all kinds of stories written too). Mom raised readers and writers. ❤

Starting tomorrow, December 1, I plan on 31 days of writing to wrap up and usher out 2025.
