October Journal Challenge: Weekend Wrap up

I haven’t written in a few days, and while my intent was to write every day, I had to honour my brain. I sat down to write Friday and my selected topic (something interesting I’d noticed) and nothing seemed interesting (other than people’s bad driving habits).

Saturday was things I was excited about for the month… Once upon a time, it would have been making my kiddo’s Halloween costume, trick or treating with him, and handing out candy. He’s 17. I haven’t made him a costume since he was 11, maybe 12? That’s when he got told (by some ^&%^#$ that he was too old for trick or treating). It wasn’t his fault he was almost six feet tall. Sure, there is YTT and my Inner Oracle card work, the stack of books by my chair, CHRISTMAS.

But I am behind in all my stuff and just feeling a little overwhelmed.

So, I did what any reasonable adult would do.

We went to a movie and out for drinks and food after. We saw the new Tron: Ares movie, having zero idea about the Tron story, the legacy, or even who was in it.

It was loud, flashy, and in 3D. The story was probably pretty Hollywood predictable. Jared Leto was in it, he looked pretty good (save for his hair always looked permanently greasy, until the last scene), and he acted better than most movies I’ve seen him in. It was entertaining, but I wouldn’t watch it again. My husband liked it and reported it to be ‘visually stunning’. He is a computer guy and was driven a little wonky by the way they always do the coding, but otherwise, he liked the movie.

Drinks & food was, as always good. Our conversation was light, we always connect well, and it gives us a chance to chat about our week, life, and the universe as we know it.

Maybe now I can get back on track. But first, Thanksgiving, Canadian style. My Dad is coming for dinner. ❤ He is bringing pie(s) and peas – the staples for any successful family dinner so I better start getting ready.
