October Journal Challenge: What I am grateful for this week

I am grateful for the amazing people in my life. Many of whom I’ve written about before on my blog. Chris, my sister, my husband, my step-mother. All have done good things this week that have made life better for me and I am thankful for them and appreciate them every single day.

Late nights. A few years ago, I decided to start staying up after my husband went to bed so I could find time to write, watch shows, or just take up space. I needed time alone, when the house was still. I honour this time and while it wasn’t really a hardship because I don’t sleep well, it is my little escape. Some nights, I go to bed (like last night) and sleep well. Other nights, I am up until 3am. 6:30 or 7 comes early, but I love my late nights, coffee in hand, choosing to spend my time writing, catching up on a show, ‘doom’ scrolling, or reading. The night is my time (except Thursdays, those are usually my husband’s late night escapades).

Taking a chance on myself. Since 2017, I have gone back and forth and forth and back about doing the yoga teacher training. Truly unsure if I should (or could) do it. But yoga isn’t just postures and positions, it is a way of life. Investing in myself, both timewise and financially was a good decision and a choice I am proud to have finally made.

Gratitude doesn’t have to be big! I am also grateful for the hot cup of coffee I am drinking while I write this and the way the homemade mac and cheese I made for supper was super cheesy! It was a good day, and I am grateful for that. What about you? Where can you find gratitude in your life?
