Day 27: Present love!

Things you love about the present.

I love that I am working to take care of myself. Whether that is through taking classes on self-betterment, finding time to connect with people important to me, taking Lily for a walk, or eating a delicious meal. Finding and figuring out what is important to me is truly a goal I’ve laid out for myself and seeing it through is important.

Miss Lily & (one of) her beloved balls!

I love that we are finishing up the renovations to the family room and studio. The construction is complete (except we decided to do a little improvement to the downstairs half-bath). Moving all the boxes down is almost complete. Next to unpack, sort, and put away! Hang the artwork, and viola! I also love the colours I chose for all the rooms!

More broadly, I love (some) modern technology. Like our cell phones and access to answers at the ‘click of a button’. Google (good bad or indifferent) is great for finding answers. Always verify things, of course! Whether it is recipes, answers to Jeopardy, or what the animal was that ran past my window, being able to look it up in a jiff is handy. Also following that thought, I love online shopping. Having mobility issues has its challenges. Being able to shop for soup to nuts online makes life easier.

I love the deepening relationships I have developed as I’ve gotten older. With my Mom, my sister, and with my kiddo. I could probably write an entire essay on these alone. My Mom has always been important in my life, but as I have gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate her role in my life in a unique way. My sister has always been my best friend, but as we get better (get older), I know we will always support one another and be there – but in a way that is beyond words. My son, well, parenting never ends. Not at 18, not at 50. You don’t get to just stop being a parent, not that it is a job I would ever stop doing.

This prompt got me thinking. Love is a powerful word. It also didn’t ask what I loved about “my present” just about “the present”. Choice of words has been key during these writing prompts, I have been careful when writing! What do you love about ‘the present’?
