Welcome to 2025! There are 27 weeks until my birthday. Twenty-seven weeks to finish my list, which is do-able. Maybe… I should get my butt in gear and start writing more than I am, and perhaps, doing the things on the list! I’ve let my writer’s block consume me and while I am always advising people who ask me about writing to ‘just write’, I’m terrible at taking my own advice.
Write, write, write!
I have a good number of things on the list done. Some have been done for more than a year. I could easily write about them, but I just can’t seem to find the motivation to do so. I don’t know why. Well, maybe I do, however, I signed up for this. There shouldn’t be an excuse.
I have a few false starts logged in my “drafts” folder. One of which is titled “Motivation: not just a ten-letter word.” Ironically, I never finished writing it. I just wasn’t, you guessed it, motivated.
My list of things is awesome. I have some fantastic things to do and share. There are exciting things I want to undertake in 2025! But I really must get off the couch (metaphorically speaking, I’m not actually sitting on a couch).
Twenty-seven weeks is not much time. It will pass in a flash. There are still some thirty things I need to do!!! That is nearly one thing per week I need to do – and some of them need weeks to complete… That is a lot of pressure, and while I realize some of this may, in fact, bleed over into my fifty-first year, if I don’t start, I’ll never get going.
So, my friends, let’s get accountable. It is my intention to start posting on the regular. On Monday and Thursday, I would like to post. Whether it is about a completed list item, an update, or a completely different thing (I have lots of different ideas in this brain of mine), the key plan here is to write and get these voices out of my head a little more frequently.
Unfortunately, life keeps getting in the way. Whether it is the job of being a Mom, or a wife, or the many other hats we all wear, the sleep we all inevitably need, I just keep failing to launch. This post has taken me nearly ten days to write!
However, it is written and now we can get on with the business of doing.
